FEMA Asks: Are You Earthquake Prepared? http://bit.ly/c3BKJd

Growing search for an earthquake-proof building http://bit.ly/dgbl5j

An earthquake is when the ground shakes or rolls as the result of a sudden release of energy in the earth’s crust. It can happen anywhere in the world but in the US most commonly affects the West Coast.

FEMA says if you experience an earthquake, drop to the ground; take cover by getting under a sturdy table or other piece of furniture; and hold on until the shaking stops. If there isn’t a table or desk near you, cover your face and head with your arms and crouch in an inside corner of the building. Stay away from glass, windows, outside doors and walls, and anything that could fall, such as lighting fixtures or furniture. If outdoors, stay there, but move away from buildings, streetlights, and utility wires. If you are in your car, it is likely you won’t even feel an earthquake. But if you do, stop and park safely away from buildings, etc. Click on the links & Images below for more important information.
